Rules, Scoring, and Guidelines for Measuring Fish
Rules
Anglers must fish with a partner. Anglers will record the total number of fish caught and the length of each fish over 12 inches. Only fish handled by the angler and successfully released count as being caught. Fish under 12", foul hooked fish, and dead fish do not count. Tabulate and record the top 10 fish over 12. inches , At the end of the time period, count the total number of inches and turn the score card into the official judge for scoring. Score cards must be turned in by noon on Sunday.
Measuring Fish
Help to minimize harm to each fish caught and measured using the tape provided or your own device if preferred.
Do not remove fish from water if possible and handle gently with wet hands.
Your partner should measure your fish whenever practical.
Extend the tape from fishes closed lower lip to the bottom fork of the tail.
Each fish is measured to the smallest whole number. A 16 and ¼ inch fish is registered as a 16 inch fish for example.
Please do not photograph your fish.
Final Scoring
Total length will be determined by the top 5 fish; more fish will be included from your 10 biggest measured in the event of ties.
